#50 - Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground - Lake Buena Vista, FL February 12-15, 2012

Our Campsite - #1325 in Tumbleweed Turn Loop

We love camping at Disney, although it has gotten quite expensive. When we first started camping at Disney we paid around $24.00 for a campsite and we thought that was expensive at the time!  But, it's Disney...and well, you can't camp anywhere else like it.

Outside temperature.
This is chilly for us Florida folks!
Temperature inside the camper
 the first morning.

We ate dinner at Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom. Always good food!
The one on the left is the LOML, although the one on the right is pretty cute too.

Bike path from the campground to Fort Wilderness Lodge. We always enjoy riding our bicycles at Fort Wilderness. At Christmas time, campers decorate their sites and it's wonderful to ride around all the loops and see the decorations. Maybe we'll go camping this Christmas and I'll post some photos of all the decorations.

Disney deer are so smart they even know where to cross the road.

Fort Wilderness Lodge's lobby. The Lodge is always a
destination on one of our bike rides.

Love the title of this book!

The horses used for the Magic Kingdom's parades are housed at the Fort Wilderness Campground. This is one of the miniature horses that pulls Cinderella's carriage. I love the pink blanket they use to keep her warm... so Disney.

Some campsite visitors...

Pileated Woodpecker - such a beautiful bird
Tufted Titmouse - a cute little birdie
Female Cardinal - she apparently didn't want her picture taken.
Not sure what bird this is...some kind of sparrow?
He's all puffed up because it's cold!
My husband calls these birds, TABs. I'll let you figure out that acronym.
02/25/12 - Per one of my friend's comments, this is a Palm Warbler.
Thanks, Becky

You can view the almost nightly fireworks being shot off at the Magic Kingdom from the campground's marina dock across Bay Lake....

Some Disney art work, spotted near one of
the playgrounds, by an anonymous artist.
